About the Show
BARE by Christopher Robert is a collection of images inspired by connection, liberation and vulnerability. In a world that’s so congested, Chris explores a raw and delicate female form in landscapes that allow the audience to focus on stillness. Shooting in a style that’s candid and honest, Chris loves exploring emotive images that capture that special moment in time.
With a longstanding passion for aesthetics, Christopher first began his self-taught photography practice whilst still in high school. His early practice infused dramatic landscapes with striking emotive qualities through the use of textures and tones. His later work in portraiture evolved into his current focus, bringing the classic nude into the landscape, increasing the complexity of expression.
The resulting images play with concepts seemingly in opposition: power and vulnerability, subject and object, artist and muse. The boundaries between the physical and psychological landscape dissolve, through the affective body.
